Thailand got 200,000 doses of the Covovax vaccine developed in India as part of the Quad grouping's flagship project to aid countries in combating the coronavirus pandemic. After the initial supply to Cambodia on April 12, this is India's second consignment of vaccines under the Quad vaccine collaboration.

Leaders of the four-nation coalition established the Quad vaccination alliance at their inaugural summit on March 12, 2021. India assisted Thailand in bolstering its pandemic response capabilities by providing oxygen concentrators and vital medicines.

The vaccine doses were delivered to fulfil Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi's commitment to contribute 500,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine to countries in the Indo-Pacific region during the Quad Leaders' Summit in Washington in September 2021.
