The Central allocation of Rs. 66,750 crore (US$ 8.44 billion) for AMRUT 2.0 projects have been distributed

In a written response to a question in the Rajya Sabha, the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Mr. Kaushal Kishore, stated that the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation 2.0 (AMRUT 2.0) scheme was launched on October 1, 2021, for a period of 5 years, from the financial year 2021–22 to 2025–26.

Funds have been distributed to States/Union Territories (UTs) under AMRUT 2.0 throughout the entire mission time rather than annually. AMRUT 2.0 projects received a central allocation of Rs. 66,750 crore (US$ 8.44 billion), which was divided among the States and UTs according to an equitable formula that gave each State and UT's urban population (as of the 2011 Census) and area weights of 90:10.
