The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and Mercedes-Benz India Private Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance India’s manufacturing ecosystem, road safety, and environmental sustainability. This collaboration aims to support startups, innovators, and entrepreneurs by providing infrastructure, mentorship, funding opportunities, and market linkages. The initiative will facilitate international partnerships and knowledge exchange to drive long-term technological advancements.
Speaking on the occasion, Joint Secretary, DPIIT, Mr. Sanjiv Singh, stated that the partnership is a strategic move to strengthen industry-academia linkages and promote responsible innovation. Mercedes-Benz India’s Managing Director, Mr. Santosh Iyer, highlighted that the company will contribute through corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, working with incubators and research institutes to foster meaningful societal impact. They signed the MoU in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.
