Top Indian firms show resilience post pandemic, Tata Group at top spot
Top Indian companies have shown resilience in post-pandemic business conditions, with TATA Group continuing to be the most valuable brand in the country.
According to leading brand valuation consultancy Brand Finance, Taj Hotels (up 6% to US$ 314 million in brand value) is the strongest brand in the ranking, with a Brand Strength Index (BSI) score of 88.9 out of 100 and a corresponding AAA brand rating. The hospitality industry is reviving, with five-star business hotels in major cities across the country seeing occupancy rates of 75-80% in May 2022.
In June 2022, Infosys (up 52% to US$ 12.8 billion in brand value) has surpassed LIC (up 28% to US$ 11.1 billion in brand value) to become the second most valuable Indian brand.
The pandemic and subsequent national lockdowns had the greatest impact on the hospitality sector, forcing brands to reinvent their strategies in order to remain relevant to the needs of tourists.
