Under the North-East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme (NESIDS), projects related to water supply, power, connectivity, and especially those promoting tourism and the social sector comprising basic and secondary sectors of education and health have been sanctioned.
According to the Union Minister for the Ministry of Development of North-Eastern Region Mr. G. Kishan Reddy, between 2019-2020 and 2022-23, 108 projects worth US$ 276.4 million (Rs. 2,273.44 crore) were approved under the NESIDS programme.
