According to Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, who was addressing the “Rozgar Mela”, the Indian tourism sector alone is expected to contribute Rs. 20 trillion (US$ 240 billion) to the economy by 2030 and has the potential to provide 130-140 million new jobs. The Indian economy was seeing rapid growth, which created a lot of employment opportunities for young people.
He distributed over 51,000 appointment letters to the youth, mostly in the security forces and said that the automobile, pharmaceutical, tourism, and food processing industries would expand quickly and create employment opportunities for the youth.
The Prime Minister added that in this decade, India is set to become one of the top three economies in the world, benefiting the common man.
The Prime Minister used the pharmaceutical sector as an example, noting that it is currently worth Rs. 4 trillion (US$ 48 billion) and is projected to reach Rs. 10 trillion (US$ 120 billion) by 2030. He continued by saying that the automobile industry was also expanding and would require youth power to drive it forward. Using Uttar Pradesh as an example, Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi claimed that the state's strong governance helped to develop the rule of law, which in turn attracted a lot of investments.
