Tourist influx in Goa rises 10.5% in January-March after tourism department implements outreach programmes

Goa's tourism sector experienced a significant boost in Q1 of FY25, with a 10.5% increase in tourist arrivals, reaching 28,51,554 visitors. This growth is attributed to the Goa Tourism Department's strategic initiatives, which include enhanced promotion in key markets, improved international air connectivity, and diversification of tourism offerings. The state registered the arrival of 28,51,554 visitors during January-March 2025, compared to 25,80,155 travellers during the corresponding period in 2024. The success of this period is not accidental but a result of deep partnerships, strategic planning, and consistent market outreach, according to Goa's Minister for Tourism, IT, E&C, Mr. Rohan A. Khaunte. The department's efforts have been focused on making Goa a future-ready destination built on sustainability, connectivity, and meaningful visitor experiences.
The growth in tourist arrivals highlights the effectiveness of Goa's tourism strategies. By strengthening promotion in both core and emerging markets, expanding international air connectivity, and diversifying tourism offerings, the Goa Tourism Department has created a more attractive and accessible destination for visitors. This strategic approach boosts the local economy and enhances the overall tourist experience. As Goa stays alert to emerging dynamics in the tourism industry, its goal remains to maintain its position as a leading destination by offering sustainable, connected, and meaningful experiences to all who visit.
