Trade between two nations US$ 15 billion: India-Brazil Chamber of Commerce official

Executive Director of the India-Brazil Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Leonardo Ananda Gomes, highlighted the successful bilateral trade between the two nations, which has now exceeded US$ 15 billion (~Rs. 1,27,000 crore) In an interview with ANI, he emphasised the strong potential for further growth, stating, "In our opinion, we are just beginning. There is significant room for exploration." He also noted the regular hosting of Indian delegations in Brazil, reflecting the increasing depth of trade relations. He also praised the relationship between Indian Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and Brazilian President Mr. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, describing it as particularly strong.

Speaking ahead of the 19th G20 Leaders' Summit in Brazil, where Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi is set to attend, he expressed confidence that this is the "best moment" for India-Brazil relations. Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s visit will see India, as a Troika member, play a crucial role in shaping the agenda. He earlier remarked that following India’s successful G20 presidency last year, Brazil has continued to build on its legacy, ensuring the advancement of Global South priorities. He also anticipated meaningful discussions on bilateral cooperation with global leaders during the summit, underscoring the shared vision of "One Earth, One Family, One Future."
