The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has partnered with Google to display authorised Aadhaar enrolment and update centres on Google Maps, enabling citizens to easily locate authorised centres near them. This initiative will allow citizens to search for Aadhaar centres near them and get access to information such as the services provided by the centres, including enrolment and update services. The initiative aims to make it easier for citizens to get access to authorised centres only, thereby avoiding the risk of approaching unauthorised service providers. The move reflects the government's efforts to use digital platforms to make essential services more accessible.
According to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, the integration will also enable additional information like the location of centres, functioning, and services offered, making it simpler for users to plan their visits efficiently. UIDAI Chief Executive Officer Mr. Bhuvnesh Kumar said that the purpose of this initiative is to improve the ease of living by making it simpler for citizens to access Aadhaar-related services. The partnership with Google is expected to improve the experience of users by providing them with accurate information through a popular platform. This move is in line with the overall vision of the government for digital transformation and citizen-centric service delivery.
