Under Pravasi Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PKVY), 129,000 trained to equip people with soft skills to compete in foreign destinations

Under the direction of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the National Skill Development Corporation is providing potential migrants with a one-day Pre-Departure Orientation Training (PDOT) programme as part of the Pravasi Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PKVY) programme.

The training aims to equip them with the necessary soft skills to compete in foreign destinations. The orientation covers various aspects, including language, culture, the emigration process, welfare measures, and dos and don’ts of the destination country. Upon completing eight hours of training, candidates receive a certificate.

As of May 31, 2023, a total of 129,062 candidates had received training under PDOT, PKVY, since January 2018.
