Union Minister Mr. Piyush Goyal chaired the second meeting of the reconstituted Board of Trade in New Delhi, announcing the initiation of the Trade Connect ePlatform. This intermediary platform aims to connect Indian exporters with international stakeholders, providing support for new exporters, market information, and insights into free trade agreements (FTAs).
Mr. Goyal emphasized leveraging free trade agreements, encouraging Startup/MSME exports, and boosting the service sector. The meeting focused on achieving the US$ 2 trillion export target by 2030 and discussing priorities in the new Foreign Trade Policy 2023. The Board of Trade provides a platform for regular discussions and consultations and advises the government on trade-related policy measures.
