Union Commerce and Industry Minister Mr. Piyush Goyal on Wednesday urged exporters and businesses in India and the US to make greater use of the India-US trade facilitation portal to boost bilateral trade. He highlighted that the bilateral trade is growing towards Rs. 46.29 lakh crore (US$ 500 billion), an ambitious target set by both sides. According to The Economic Times report, the newly launched India-U.S. trade facilitation portal is aimed at strengthening commercial linkages and accelerating bilateral trade growth. The initiative is designed to connect businesses across sectors ranging from agriculture and gems to software and pharmaceuticals, creating a structured digital interface for trade collaboration. The portal is expected to play a catalytic role in helping industry bodies, export promotion councils, and chambers from both sides identify opportunities and expand market access.

This portal was launched virtually by the Foreign Secretary, Mr. Vikram Misri, during his three-day visit to the United States, in the presence of India's Ambassador to the US, Mr. Vinay Mohan Kwatra, officials, and trade representatives from both countries. The platform acts as a “runway” for domestic services exporters, highlighting that it can create opportunities across the value chain from a farmer in Punjab and a jeweler in Surat to technology professionals in Bengaluru and pharmaceuticals firm in Telangana. The initiative is expected to simplify business discovery, deepen sectoral integration, and support the long-term trade objective shared by India and the US.
