Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh says, over 160,000 farmers have received benefits during the Biotech-KISAN scheme in the last one year

Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of State Science & Technology, Earth Sciences, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy, and Space, informed that so far 160,000 farmers have received benefits during the last one-year (January-December, 2022) of Biotech-KISAN scheme.

According to Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Biotech-KISAN programme has been established to offer advice and provide solutions to farmers who are experiencing issues with water, soil, seeds, and marketing.

The programme offers advice and demonstrations to farmers on improved seed, vegetable planting stock, interventions for the use of plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR's)/bio-fertilizers, irrigation and protected cultivation technologies, improved livestock (goat, pig), poultry and fishery, as well as health management of livestock/poultry.
