Union Minister Mr. Nitin Gadkari reviewed proposed High-Speed and High-Density Corridors along with key National Highway projects in Maharashtra, focusing on enhancing regional connectivity and accelerating infrastructure development. The review meeting held in New Delhi covered multiple strategic corridors, including six-laning of the Nagpur-Bhandara and Pune-Satara sections, as well as four-laning of the Taloda-Burhanpur stretch. Other major corridors discussed included Durg-Gadchiroli-Mancherial, Gadchiroli-Kanker (Raipur-Vizag), Gwalior-Nagpur, Nagpur-Hyderabad, and Lakhnadon-Durg-Raipur. Additionally, the Madhya Pradesh-Maharashtra border to Nagpur Bypass-Borkhedi stretch on NH-44 and six-laning of the Nagpur-Amravati section were also reviewed as part of the broader plan to strengthen highway capacity and improve logistics efficiency.
The meeting also assessed nine State Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) projects covering a total length of 527 km across Maharashtra’s National Highway network. These include key stretches such as Shirur-Ahilyanagar, Ahilyanagar-Wadala, Wadala-Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna-Watur, and Nanded-Narsi-Deglur, among others. Additional corridors like Jam-Warora, Warora-Chandrapur-Bamni, and Malkapur-Chikhli were also part of the review. The discussions emphasised expediting project planning, improving execution timelines and strengthening infrastructure to support economic growth in the region. The initiative reflects a continued push towards corridor-based development aimed at boosting connectivity, facilitating trade and enhancing overall transportation efficiency in Maharashtra.
