Union Minister Mr. Piyush Goyal highlighted the importance of small countries in the global supply chain at 'India Calling Conference 2023'

Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs & Food & Public Distribution and Textiles, Mr. Piyush Goyal advocated for a US$ 47 trillion economy by 2047 in his inaugural keynote at the 'India Calling Conference 2023', organised by Indian Merchants Chambers in Mumbai.

Mr. Piyush Goyal highlighted the global contributions made by businesses from small countries like the Czech Republic and Poland to the supply chains of large companies. He praised India's attempts to formalise its economy and emphasised Mumbai’s competitive energy and optimism.

He also acknowledged the world's high aspirations and hopes for India, emphasising the country's conviction in global development and collaboration. He used India's Vaccine Maitri project as an illustration of the country's dedication to promoting global well-being by providing 278 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, largely free, to underdeveloped nations.

He emphasised the significance of making a national commitment to implementing the "Panch Pran," the five principles mentioned by the Prime Minister, and emphasised the critical role that women's empowerment and a society free of corruption play in creating a developed India. He also lauded the industry's commitment to social concerns and urged everyone to work together to make the country's future brighter.

He also welcomed attendees to the 100th episode of the prime minister's radio show, “ Mann Ki Baat ”, on 30th April, 2023.
