Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Mr. Piyush Goyal stated that the government will utilise every available policy tool and the Export Promotion Mission to support India’s exporters and safeguard the country’s global trade commitments. The statement further emphasised that the government remains committed to assisting exporters amid disruptions in global trade caused by geopolitical tensions such as the ongoing conflicts involving the US, Israel and Iran. The statement added that India will continue to honour all commitments made by its industries to international buyers in both goods and services, ensuring reliability in global markets.
To address emerging challenges, the government has established an inter-ministerial group that reviews the situation daily and works on solutions to support exporters facing logistical or market-related disruptions. The commerce ministry is also in regular dialogue with the ministry of shipping and shipping companies to resolve operational issues affecting export shipments. The statement further emphasised that the government stands firmly with the industry and will take necessary measures to protect the interests of exporters. Through coordinated policy action and proactive engagement with stakeholders, the government aims to strengthen India’s export ecosystem and maintain momentum in the country’s foreign trade sector despite global uncertainties.
