Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Piyush Goyal launches Trade Intelligence and Analytics Portal

India has unveiled the Trade Intelligence and Analytics (TIA) Portal, a unified digital platform designed to make trade data more accessible, transparent, and actionable for exporters, importers, MSMEs, startups, and policymakers. Launched by Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Piyush Goyal, the platform aims to empower businesses, particularly smaller firms, with insights that were previously available only to large enterprises. He noted that the portal will help users identify global opportunities, understand tariff environments, optimise the use of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), and diversify India’s trade basket. He emphasised the need for exports to strengthen India’s foreign exchange reserves, adding that data-driven decision-making will be vital in a global environment marked by tariff volatility. Stakeholders were encouraged to be more demanding and share challenges so that the Ministry can coordinate and accelerate solutions.

Developed by the Department of Commerce as a cost-effective, open-source system, the TIA Portal consolidates extensive global and bilateral trade databases into one integrated hub. It hosts more than 270 interactive visualisations across over 28 dashboards covering trade flows with more than 220 nations, market diversification tools, Production Linked Incentive performance, surge monitoring, critical minerals, macroeconomic indicators, and trade indices such as Revealed Comparative Advantage and Trade Intensity. Automated workflows, including the Monthly Trade Report and surge alerts, replace legacy portals and significantly reduce manual data processing. With its advanced analytics, drill-down features, and user-centric design, the TIA Portal enhances evidence-based policymaking, strengthens market intelligence, and supports India’s goal of expanding and deepening its global trade footprint.
