Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Mr. Piyush Goyal, has urged investment in emerging technologies such as robotics, automation, machine learning, 3D manufacturing, and next-generation factories to realise the “Viksit Bharat 2047” vision. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the second edition of Startup Mahakumbh in Delhi, He highlighted the importance of these innovations in establishing India as a global leader in industry and innovation. India is currently the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem, a position attributed to the country’s dynamic entrepreneurial spirit and technological advancements. The event, which runs from April 3, 2025, to April 5, 2025, will focus on the evolving role of startups in driving India’s economic and technological growth.
He encouraged Indian investors to support the domestic startup ecosystem, reiterating the government’s commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. He stressed the need to increase domestic capital investments to reduce dependency on foreign capital and ensure long-term economic resilience. He also emphasised the importance of attracting domestic investors to strengthen India’s capital base and ensure self-reliance. He expressed confidence that with collective efforts, India’s startup ecosystem will continue to thrive and contribute significantly to the nation’s prosperity.
