Union Minister of Communications Mr. Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurates Bharat Telecom 2025; Highlights India’s export potential

Union Minister of Communications Mr. Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurated Bharat Telecom 2025 in New Delhi, highlighting India's growing role as a global telecom exporter and innovation hub. The event, organized by the Telecom Equipment and Services Export Promotion Council (TEPC) in collaboration with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), showcases India's ambitions to become a global telecom manufacturing, services, and exports leader. He emphasized that India has transformed from a digital follower to a global digital leader under Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi's vision, connecting 99% of villages with 5G and deploying 470,000 towers. He highlighted India's progress from expensive, limited mobile access in the 1990s to becoming the world's second-largest telecom market and the cheapest data provider. Minister of State for Communications, Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, noted that India is now a creator and provider of world-class telecom solutions driven by initiatives like the production-linked incentive scheme and progressive spectrum management. The event featured over 80 leading Indian Telecom and ICT companies showcasing innovative products and solutions across multiple domains, with more than 130 foreign delegates from over 35 countries participating.
Bharat Telecom 2025 serves as a platform for stakeholders to interact and explore opportunities in the global telecom industry. The event includes thematic exhibitions, conference sessions, B2B meetings, and knowledge-sharing forums focusing on cutting-edge communication technologies such as 5G, Optical Fibre, Broadband Infrastructure, Satellite Communication, IoT, and AI-driven Networks. Established in 2009, the Telecom Equipment and Services Export Promotion Council (TEPC) plays a crucial role in promoting and facilitating the export of telecom equipment and services, spanning the entire telecom ecosystem, including ICT hardware and software, infrastructure products, system integration, consultancy, and service provision. TEPC serves as a key platform for diverse stakeholders within the telecom sector, fostering innovation and growth.
