During the DNPA Conclave and Awards 2024 on February 6, Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Jal Shakti, Mr. Rajeev Chandrasekhar, highlighted India's transformative role in the global tech landscape over the past decade. Mr. Chandrasekhar emphasized the country's evolution from a traditional "back-office" of the IT industry to an innovative economy, actively contributing to the digital ecosystem. He noted the spectacular growth in technology, particularly in artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, and web3, positioning Indian start-ups and innovation prominently on the global stage.
The Union Minister underscored a shift in perceptions, stating that India and its skilled workforce are no longer viewed merely as a cost-effective solution or back-office hub. Instead, they are recognized as valuable partners in shaping the future of technology. Mr. Chandrasekhar emphasized the qualitative structural change brought about by India's enabling policies, creating momentum and establishing the nation's talent pool as globally competitive, especially in semiconductors and AI.
