Principal Commercial Officer at the United States Embassy in India, Ms. Xiaobing Feng, reaffirmed Washington’s strong commitment to advancing its energy security partnership with New Delhi. Speaking at the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) third Energy Summit in New Delhi, she emphasised the growing cooperation between the two nations in oil, gas, civil nuclear energy, and emerging technologies. She recalled that in February 2025, Honourable President of USA, Mr. Donald Trump, and Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi had reaffirmed their shared role as leading producers and consumers in shaping global energy markets and committed to strengthening long-term bilateral collaboration.
Highlighting energy as a key driver of economic growth for both countries, she outlined three core areas for deeper cooperation, diversifying energy resources, enhancing infrastructure resilience, and leveraging American expertise in natural gas, nuclear energy, and innovative technologies. She noted that US companies are eager to work with Indian partners to create smart energy solutions and to build sustainable supply chains for critical minerals. She added that reforms in the US energy sector have fostered innovation and reinforced its position as a global leader. The IACC Energy Summit continues to provide a platform for expanding cooperation in renewable energy, hydrocarbons, and civil nuclear projects, while strengthening bilateral trade and investment ties.
