Several agreements with investors in Singapore have been signed by the Uttar Pradesh government, ahead of the UP Global Investors Summit in February, according to a state minister Mr. Dev Singh, as he sought Singapore's support for reaching a US$ 50 billion investment commitments target.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the UP Government and the Singapore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI), which was done in order to set the pace for Singapore investors to participate in UP’s prosperity.
“Since we are pitching for investments, SICCI will act as a bridge between investment companies and the UP Government”, the minister said. He further added that SICCI will act as a knowledge partner, provide avenues for growth, and define the trajectory for investors.
Mr. Dev Singh stated that UP is set to become a US$ 1 trillion economy and to achieve these goals, the UP government should have around US$ 50 billion grounded as early as possible.
