UP investment summit: Proposals worth Rs 80,000 crore received; to create 5 lakh direct and 20 lakh indirect jobs, says CM Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh received proposals worth Rs. 80,000 crore (US$ 10.30 billion) at the June investment summit, which has the potential to create five lakh direct jobs and 20 lakh indirect jobs, according to Mr. Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

Agriculture, IT and electronics, MSME, manufacturing, renewable energy, pharma, tourism, defence and aerospace, and handloom and textiles were among the industries represented at the event. Prominent business leaders such as Mr. Gautam Adani and Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla were also present at the event.

Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for 1,406 multi-crore projects.

India is currently ranked second in the Global Retail Index and is one of the fastest growing G-20 economies, said Mr. Modi.
