Uttar Pradesh government has signed 79 MoUs worth US$ 9.31 billion (Rs. 76,000 crores)

The Uttar Pradesh government, in a roadshow, has signed 79 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) worth US$ 9.31 billion (Rs. 76,000 crores), as per an official release.

Mr. Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, the Industrial Development Department Minister addressed the eminent industrialists during the roadshow and discussed the changes that have taken place in UP in the last five years and showcased the investment-friendly policies of the government while inviting them to invest in the state. The investors appreciated the change in the new Uttar Pradesh.

The Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Varun Beverages mentioned that they already have seven plants in UP, as the environment there is better than anywhere else. He added that they will invest US$ 416 million (Rs. 3,400 crores) in UP. Furthermore, the Manager of Haldiram’s said they started with one factory, which has grown to five, and now they’ll be signing three MoUs. In addition to it, the President of Crystal Crop Protection Limited and Kent RO System also asserted positive notes for the UP government and its progress.

Six investors from different states of the country have made proposals for big investments in the Lucknow roadshow. These investors include City Gold Corporation - US$ 3.18 billion (Rs. 26,000 crores), Nexon Energia - US$ 1.83 billion (Rs. 15,000 crores), Varun Beverages - US$ 416 million (Rs. 3,400 crores), Haldiram’s - US$ 160 million (Rs. 1,310 crores), Dharampal Satyapal - US$ 110 million (Rs. 900 crores) and Kent RO System- US$ 61 million (Rs. 500 crores), the release said.
