On Thursday and Friday, the Indian Industry Confederation, in partnership with the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has organised a virtual business conclave with Cambodia, the Lao PDR, Myanmar and Vietnam.
As key growth points for the ASEAN region, the CLMV countries (Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Vietnam) have emerged, giving the region a broader market outreach resulting in favourable or free trade deals with larger world economies and are considered to be conducive to the establishment of manufacturing units.
On CII HIVE, CII's virtual forum, the 6th India CLMV Business Conclave: Building Bridges for Constructive Growth will be held. Another forum to improve India's cooperation with the CLMV countries is being developed by the conclave.
In addition to the sectoral sessions, a virtual exhibition will be held over 15 days with companies from India and the CLMV countries showcasing their products and services across sectors such as agriculture (agri-food processing, farm inputs and related services), manufacturing (automotive, textile and machine tools), power and renewable energy, infrastructure, transportation, and light industry (automotive, textile and machine tools).
At the inaugural session, Minister of Commerce and Industry and Railways Mr. Piyush Goyal was the chief guest. Trade ministers from the CLMV region were invited to participate in the conclave.
The two-day event will include sectoral sessions, country focus sessions, and government, industry from India, and the CLMV region will participate.
