Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi praised the PM Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana (PM-VIKAS) (announced in this year's budget), which will assist in training small artisans and craftsmen, help in educating them about medium, small, and micro enterprises (MSMEs), and will also help in connecting with them. He was speaking at a training programme for recently hired teachers in Madhya Pradesh.

In order to help traditional craftsmen and craftspeople increase the quality, scope, and reach of their products and incorporate them into the MSME value chain, the PM Vishwakarma Yojana was introduced in the Budget 2023-24.

Along with financial support, this scheme will also include access to advanced skill training, knowledge of modern digital techniques and efficient green technologies, brand promotion, linkage with local and global markets, digital payments, and social security, as per the Finance Minister Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman’s budget speech.

Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi stated that the initiative will help millions of craftsmen and that the government will make sure that they can readily obtain loans, that their skills are improved, and that they receive all types of technical support. He had also urged all stakeholders to discuss and prepare an action plan to reach out to artisans based in very remote areas as well.
