L’Oréal, the cosmetics major, plans to more than double its business in India over the next few years and expand its local factories. According to L’Oréal CEO Mr. Nicolas Hieronimus, India is a key strategic market and one of the world’s fastest-growing beauty markets. The company currently manufactures 95% of its products sold in India and exports to other regions. He said that India is a country of opportunities and a priority for L’Oréal. The company manufactures half a billion units in India and intends to increase this number in the coming years. L’Oréal India, a subsidiary of French multinational L’Oréal SA, has been operating in India since 1994 and has a portfolio of brands available in mass market channels, hair and beauty salons, and selective distribution.
L’Oréal India’s brands include L’Oréal Paris, Garnier, Maybelline New York, NYX Professional Makeup, L’Oréal Professionnel, Matrix, Kerastase, Cheryl’s Cosmeceuticals, Redken, Kiehl’s, Lancome, Yves Saint Laurent, and CeraVe. He met with India’s Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Piyush Goyal, who is on an official visit to France to hold meetings with French leadership and firms to boost trade and investment between the two countries. He also met with the CEO of Renault Group, Mr. Luca de Meo, to discuss India’s potential as an automobile manufacturing hub and emerging opportunities in the EV sector.
