YouTube's creator ecosystem contributed Rs 6,800 cr to Indian GDP

According to an independent assessment issued by YouTube, the increasing creative ecosystem contributed Rs 6,800 crore (US$ 895.31 million) to the Indian GDP and supported 683,900 full-time equivalent employment in India in 2020. The number of YouTube channels with over 100,000 subscribers in India has increased by over 45% year on year, to 40,000. YouTube has enabled creative entrepreneurs to pursue their professional ambitions for more than 14 years, allowing them to share their hobbies and ideas with a large audience while also earning money.
