Zoomcar, a car-sharing platform, announced its expansion into Indonesia and Vietnam on Tuesday.

Zoomcar's growth comes on the heels of the company's recent forays into the Philippines and Egypt.

Mr. Leo Wibisono Arifin has been named Vice President and Country Head of Zoomcar's Indonesia operations, according to a release.

Prior to joining Zoomcar, Mr. Arifin served as the Head of Strategy at GOJEK, Indonesia's largest IT firm.

According to the announcement, Mr. Kiet Pham will join Zoomcar as Vice President and Country Head for the company's development into Vietnam.

Mr. Pham has held top managerial positions at GOJEK, OYO, and Nielsen in the past.

Mr. Pham is a firm believer in innovation as a means of achieving long-term sustainability, and he is dedicated to using it to positively influence the communities and organizations in which he is involved.

“Mr. Leo and Mr. Kiet have over a decade of startup management experience, and their skills will be critical in establishing Zoomcar as the first-to-market car-sharing platform in Indonesia and Vietnam,” according to the announcement.

Zoomcar's CEO and co-founder Mr. Greg Moran stated that the firm has always prioritized personal mobility.

“With low levels of car ownership and big, upwardly mobile populations, Indonesia and Vietnam provide an ideal opportunity for us to capitalise. We... are looking forward to learning from their (Mr. Leo and Mr. Kiet's) experience in rapidly scaling up and forming synergistic relationships that will help us develop in Indonesia and Vietnam” he added.

In 2013, Zoomcar introduced India's first personal mobility platform, which currently has over 7,000 automobiles and a presence in five nations.

Zoomcar, based in Bengaluru, allows customers to hire automobiles by the hour, day, week, or month. It employs over 300 employees and works in more than 50 Indian cities. Zoomcar Mobility Services, the company's business SaaS-based mobility solutions offering that includes white-labeled subscription services and IoT-based driver behaviour monitoring systems, will be introduced in 2020.
