IBEF Celebrates Its 26th Anniversary On July 11 2022
July 11, 2022, New Delhi: India Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF) completed 26 glorious years of its existence on July 11, 2022. The Department of Commerce established IBEF in 1996 as a Trust. Through its core promotional and branding activities, IBEF has contributed to creating awareness of the Made in India label and the country's business potential in overseas markets.
During the last 26 years, the functioning of IBEF has acquired newer dimensions towards the promotion of Made in India and has emerged as an essential body of the Department of Commerce. IBEF has collaborated with central and state institutions, councils and boards to promote India as a progressive, forward-looking and vibrant economy in the world over these two and a half decades.
IBEF implements its mandate through a wide range of high-impact initiatives and campaigns across national and international markets. IBEF has constantly been working to create and improve the perception of India among international buyers, investors and governments. It has been able to successfully establish a resource centre in the form of its website – www.ibef.org. The IBEF website is one of the most popular sources of information on various Indian sectors, states and union territories.
IBEF works closely with industry associations, export promotion councils, commodity boards, and central & state ministries for its initiatives. IBEF has executed several sectoral brand campaigns with an export focus in industries like agriculture, food processing, engineering, plantation commodities, carpets, leather, and services.
Under its Brand India Campaign, IBEF has taken the initiative to establish ‘Brand India’ as an export powerhouse by promoting the nation's strengths and individual sectors like agriculture, pharmaceuticals, engineering, textiles, handloom and handicrafts among others. The Brand India campaign is expected to play an integral role in driving India's exports and helping exporters move up the value chain in international markets.
