On July 11, 2022, the India Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF) celebrated 26 illustrious years of existence. IBEF was created in 1996 by the Department of Commerce as a Trust. IBEF has helped raise awareness of the Made in India label and the nation's business potential in international markets through its key promotional and branding initiatives.
In the last 26 years, IBEF's operations have expanded to support the Made in India movement, and the organisation has become a key component of the Department of Commerce. Over the past 25 years, IBEF has worked with federal and state organisations, councils, and boards to showcase India as a developed, forward-thinking, and thriving economy.
IBEF has been working hard to build and enhance the perception of India among foreign investors, buyers, and governments. Through the creation of its website, www.ibef.org, it has been successful in creating a resource centre, which is one of the most popular sources of information on different Indian states, union territories, and sectors.
IBEF collaborates closely on its projects with central & state ministries, commodities boards, export promotion councils, and industry associations. In industries like agriculture, food processing, engineering, plantation commodities, carpets, leather, and services, IBEF has carried out a number of sectoral brand initiatives with an export focus.
IBEF's Brand India Campaign aims to make "Brand India" a dominant export force by highlighting the country's advantages in areas including agriculture, pharmaceuticals, engineering, textiles, handicrafts, and engineering, among others. The Brand India initiative is anticipated to be crucial in boosting Indian exports and assisting exporters in climbing the value chain in foreign markets.
