IBEF Completes 30 Years of Building Brand India

The India Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF) has completed 30 years of promoting the Made in India label and strengthening India's global economic identity. Established by the Department of Commerce on July 11, 1996, IBEF has evolved into the Government of India's dedicated platform for Brand India communication, knowledge dissemination and international outreach. Over the past three decades, the organisation has worked closely with ministries, Export Promotion Councils, industry associations, Indian Missions and other stakeholders to support trade promotion, develop sector-specific campaigns and communicate India's economic progress across global markets. A key pillar of its work has been the development of ibef.org, one of India's most comprehensive economic information platforms, providing sector reports, state profiles, policy updates and business intelligence across more than 45 sectors and all States and Union Territories, serving businesses, policymakers, investors and researchers worldwide.

Aligned with the Viksit Bharat vision, IBEF has expanded its branding and outreach initiatives to support national programmes including India's G20 Presidency engagements, Bharat Mobility, Indian Millets, Geographical Indication (GI) products, the Export Promotion Mission and outreach for the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA). Through initiatives such as Discover India, the organisation has promoted Indian products including tea, Basmati rice, millets, organic products and GI-tagged goods while supporting India's participation in major international trade fairs, exhibitions and business forums. Over the past decade, IBEF has collaborated with more than 50 Export Promotion Councils, industry associations, Indian Missions and partner organisations, contributing to India's participation in over 100 global trade events and outreach programmes. As it enters its fourth decade, IBEF will continue strengthening Brand India, supporting export growth and enhancing India's global image through strategic communication, international engagement and knowledge-based initiatives.
