Trade dashboard: One-stop shop for India’s trade related data

Trade dashboard: One-stop shop for India’s trade related data

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has recently launched the new enhanced dashboard on foreign trade data. Being launched as part of the Ministry’s initiative to provide easy access to India’s export, import and balance of trade data to the public, the recently launched dashboard presents data about various commodities in an analytical format. The dashboard was formally launched by Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Commerce & Industry, Ms Nirmala Sitharaman recently.

The new dashboard provides a user-friendly interface for data on exports, imports and balance of trade of India, ranging from basic information like the export turnover of the country over time and space to export destinations, ports data etc.

Since digitisation of the government records and data analytics is crucial for fast and effective evidence based planning and policy evaluation and also plays an important role in effective and transparent governance, the dashboard is expected to provide an enabling environment to importers and exporters to identify and access global trade opportunities based on reliable and updated information, directly accessible to the public through Government sources.

Do visit the platform on http://dashboard-commerce.gov.in/.
