New Delhi: India’s installed solar power capacity over the next seven years will provide 110 terawatt-hours or 22 per cent of incremental power demand, as per a report by Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA). The overall installed capacity is expected to increase to 75 gigawatts due to overall investment of US$ 50 billion. Overall net electricity demand in India is expected to increase by 500 terawatt-hours by fiscal 2022. India estimated to have 37 gigawatts of renewable energy demand. Overall price of solar electricity has also fallen by 80 per cent in past five years.
